Centre for Foundation Studies helps students achieve the language proficiency necessary for pursuing undergraduate programmes. It also serves those students who are already enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma programmes offered by the Middle East College. All programmes are designed to meet practical and specific communicative needs.
Centre for Foundation Studies aims to equip students who enroll in the Foundation Programme with the skills necessary to perform competently in their academic programmes. On completion of the English courses, students should have acquired the receptive as well as productive skills necessary to perform competently in a non-mother-tongue setting.
The department also offers English language support modules to specialist programme offering departments
Centre for Foundation Studies has a dedicated team of experienced professionals who are committed to help students meet the challenges of learning English. The department has excellent labs as well as classrooms equipped with multi-media facilities. The layout of the labs enhances the learning spaces and complements the integration of social interaction in English using Chat and Discussion Forums available on Moodle.
