MEC\u2019s research mission is to advance knowledge, foster innovation and create meaningful impact through research, entrepreneurship and collaboration. This supports Oman Vision 2040 and its ambition to build a knowledge-based economy driven by research, innovation and enterprise.<\/p>\n

Through the Integrative Knowledge Portfolio Process (IKPP), students begin developing research capability early in their studies. Students engage with real-world challenges, investigate problems, develop feasible solutions and gain opportunities to present and disseminate their work through scientific forums and publications.<\/p>\n This approach develops critical thinking, originality, research capability, and problem-solving skills while giving students experience applying knowledge to research, innovation, and industry challenges.<\/p>\n From Research to Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n MEC encourages research to move beyond academic publication towards application and wider impact. Researchers and students are encouraged to collaborate with industry, explore opportunities for intellectual property and commercialisation, and develop promising ideas through innovation and entrepreneurship platforms.<\/p>\n MEC students and researchers have also gained recognition through national and international forums, including the IEEE GCC Congress, Startup Cup and Skyline Innovation Awards.<\/p>\n Through this approach, MEC research contributes to knowledge creation, real-world problem-solving, innovation, and the development of capabilities relevant to Oman\u2019s future economy.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n
