It gives me immense joy to share my experiences and the benefits of being the IEOM (Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society) <\/em>student chapter member for the academic year 2022 \u2013 2023 at Middle East College, Department of Management Studies.<\/p>\n

Students are busy. Between classes, work, homework, family and other commitments, there can be a lot to balance. So why is it suggested to add another thing to that list by joining a student organisation? The reason is simple: it shapes our personality and soft skills and can positively impact our career and student experience now and after college.<\/p>\n

By becoming a member of the student chapter, one can develop strengths and skills that could have a positive and broad impact as we enter the workplace. Joining a student organisation presents many opportunities to learn more about ourselves, our goals, and our strengths. One can learn how other students handle certain situations and test their knowledge. One can also determine what one is proficient at, whether multitasking, staying organised, generating ideas, or serving others. This self-awareness will benefit our future careers.<\/p>\n
