I am Abdul Rahman Albalushi, a Civil Engineering student at Middle East College. This blog will document my fascinating internship experience, which provided valuable information and aided my personal and professional development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"d1ee7fda-adca-423c-92cc-c21771b316f1\"><strong>EMBRACING THE UNKNOWN:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"75915a9d-3e58-4f94-a60f-2168ed720345\">As I entered the internship, I was overcome with exhilaration and intimidation. New people, new responsibilities, and a dynamic working environment. However, after taking the first steps, I learned that pushing myself outside my comfort zone was the key to growth and discovery. My academic understanding came to life as I worked on practical projects. It was a chance for me to witness the immediate impact of my efforts and learn different abilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"19667f00-d78e-416d-aa75-2bc64e84bbb0\"><strong>MENTORS &amp; MILESTONES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"aea9c57b-db58-4c02-965e-6dc13213f213\">Throughout my internship, I depended on knowledgeable mentors&#8217; advice. They generously shared their knowledge, made comments, and encouraged me to succeed. During my internship as a &#8216;Site Engineer&#8217;, I supervised many buildings <span class=\"issue-underline underline decoration-2 underline-offset-4 transition decoration-border-danger-default [.long-form-editing-active_&amp;]:decoration-border-danger-default\/50 hover:bg-bg-danger-light-default\" data-issueid=\"3ae2b1ca-1619-4aee-93ad-9d184dbaceb3\" aria-label=\"open issue for the following text in\" data-testid=\"issue-underline:at\">in<\/span> their construction stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"f60af4c3-22c2-47ce-82f4-47c201518a78\"><strong>OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"984f3082-d65a-4766-8300-407381264f3b\">The following points illustrate my daily supervision work. First, I trained at Muscat Engineering Design Company as <span class=\"issue-underline underline decoration-2 underline-offset-4 transition decoration-border-danger-default [.long-form-editing-active_&amp;]:decoration-border-danger-default\/50 hover:bg-bg-danger-light-default\" data-issueid=\"edfc1f8d-916c-43f9-9371-9d1fe0543ad7\" aria-label=\"open issue for the following text a (Site Engineer)\" data-testid=\"issue-underline:a Site Engineer\">a (Site Engineer)<\/span> for three months. I gained a lot of experience there, <span class=\"issue-underline underline decoration-2 underline-offset-4 transition decoration-border-brand-default [.long-form-editing-active_&amp;]:decoration-border-brand-default\/50 hover:bg-bg-brand-light-default\" data-issueid=\"8e9749c7-7155-42c5-8ee3-65d36e1778ee\" aria-label=\"open issue for the following text such as:\" data-testid=\"issue-underline:including:\">such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"4b8e1a5d-f535-40f0-bf1f-4ff1a8f62f44\">&#8211; Making daily site visits to ensure that workers make no building mistakes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"49b1b2fb-2433-4006-8626-4b6c04fdc657\">&#8211; Providing engineering consultancy to the client and workers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"148946af-0b0d-4b98-a835-dc735cd176d3\">&#8211; Ensure that the project is moving along as specified in the plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"34584ec4-bea4-434c-b9e6-97f32d66ed37\">&#8211; Provide suggestions and solutions that benefit the client and the contractor in a dispute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"9bc80014-8b83-4296-b3ae-a5ca2b1f5a8b\">&#8211; Writing reports during each visit and delivering them to the employee in charge of the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"f7207cf4-6729-4ce5-a49c-bbc4147fd671\">As a student, my internship experience was a thrilling experience that moved me ahead on my quest for self-discovery and professional development. It served as a platform for bridging the gap between theory and practice, forging meaningful connections, and facing problems with tenacity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"5326f32c-536d-4709-ba48-df679ed32d99\">I advise prospective interns to grasp the chance, take a risk, and begin on a path that unleashes their potential.
