This programme prepares you to apply technology in different areas of computer hardware and networking in real situations. It develops your skills in the design and implementation of large-scale computer networks in the area of computer hardware. It also enhances your proficiency in identifying different hardware components and recognizing their relationship with, and use in, networking.
Candidates seeking direct admission to the programme mentioned should possess a General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling or equivalent qualification) in the science stream.
A minimum score of 65% in any two of the following modules/courses:
a) Pure Math
Students who do not possess a GFP certificate or an equivalent certificate may take MEC placement test. The placement test determines proficiency levels in English, Pure Math and Computing component.
English Language in the GFP can be exempted from producing IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certificate with a score of 5.5 and above, a TOEFL equivalent or an equivalent international certification
Computing component of the GFP can be exempted if the candidate has successfully completed the ICDL or IC3 or any equivalent international diploma in IT skills.
A score of 60% and above in MEC placement test in each of the component would enable the student for exemption from General Foundation programme.
