Students
A student visa is mandatory for all international students who do not hold a valid Resident Card for their stay in Oman and are undertaking their education in the country. Upon request, Middle East College can arrange Student visa for international students in line with the rules and regulations of the country.
What are the documents required from me to obtain a student visa if I am a new student?
Note: This is for students who do not have a valid Omani Resident card
- Copy of Passport valid for not less than 6 months
- Medical Report must be Approved by Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman
- Two copies of a recent photograph of the applicant
- To obtain MEC Student Visa; it is required to have Medical Insurance valid for one year*
- Advance Registration Fee: 1000/ OMR (Approx. 2597.47 USD)
- Security Deposit: 250/ OMR (Approx. 649.37USD)
- Visa Processing Fee: 35/ OMR (Approx. 90.91 USD)
I also should consider that:
- *Medical insurance must be issued from Oman and must be renewed annually in alignment with the student visa renewal.
- The advance payment made against the registration fee is later adjusted in the tuition fees to be paid for module registration.
- The Security Deposit is refundable and is returned when the student has no dues and cancels/transfer the student visa.
What are the documents required from me to obtain a student visa if I am residing in Oman already?
Note: This option is available for students / applicants who are already living in Oman and want to Change from their current visa to Student visa.
- Copy of Passport, Visa, and Resident Card of the parent
- Copy of Passport, Visa, and Resident Card of the student/applicant valid for not less than 6 months
- A ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the parent attested by the respective embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman (Certificate must be in Arabic)
- Company papers (enrollment certificate, commercial register, and signature sample)
- Two copies of a recent photograph of the student/applicant
- To obtain MEC Student Visa; it is required to have Medical Insurance valid for one year*
- Advance Registration Fee: 1000/ OMR (Approx. 2597.47 USD)
- Security Deposit: 250/ OMR (Approx. 649.37 USD)
- Visa Processing Fee 35/ OMR (Approx. 90.91 USD)
- Visa Transfer Fee 50/ OMR (Approx. 129.87 USD)

I am already holding a MEC student visa. What is required from me to renew my student visa before expiry?
Student visa must be renewed annually before the date of expiry for which the following documents are required:
- Student’s Original passport valid for not less than 6 months
- Two copies of a recent photograph of the student
- Valid Medical Insurance for a year
- Visa Processing Fee 35/ OMR (Approx. 90.91 USD)
How long does it take to issue/ transfer/ renew my visa?
After you submit all the required documents to the International Office, the visa process will take about 10 to 15 working days to complete.

- Student must submit all documents to International Office.
- Student should ensure clearing all traffic violations fees prior to applying for New/ Renewal/ Transfer visa.
- Student needs to sign a Student Undertaking to adhere to MEC and Visa Regulations.
