Middle East College (MEC) conducted its Student Advisory Council (SAC) elections last week and formed the council for the academic year 2019-20 on 28 October 2019. The council formation was held in the presence of Dr. Saleh Al Shaaibi, Associate Dean-External Relations and Community Outreach, Head- Community Outreach and Activities Department, Staff members from different departments at the college and the 18 elected candidates.
The Council appointed Riam Zaid Al Saadi as the President of SAC, Qais Abdul Hafidh Al Balushi as the Vice-President, Muhammed Ahmed as the Head of Academic Affairs Committee, Danish Shuja as the Head of Students Services Committee and Eiman Aslam as the Head of Activities and Initiatives Committee. As per the mandate of SAC, each of the Committee Heads will have 4 elected members to assist them with successfully implementing various activities and responsibilities.
Student Council represents the student community of the college and it actively participates in enhancing student experience, in terms of student learning, student research activity and student services. Student participation in all the five college level committees are ensured through Student Advisory Council wherein the council members are given the opportunity to provide constructive feedback on various matters of importance.
