MEC organizes the 1st Alumni Iftar Gathering

As part of its efforts in strengthening the connections and engaging its alumni in the various activities, Middle East College (MEC) organized the first Alumni Iftar Gathering on Sunday, the 3rd of June 2018 at MEC Student Hub, Knowledge Oasis Muscat. Over 100 MEC alumni, top management, staff, and students attended the event. The gathering aimed at re-establishing the connections and networks between the alumni, strengthening the relationship between the institution and its alumni and engage the alumni in the various activities and events conducted by the college. Different activities including competitions and a community outreach initiative in cooperation with Fakkrba (a charity project aiming at collecting financial donations to release the imprisoned insolvents due to claims in civil, commercial, legitimate and labor cases) were organized during the gathering. 

Abdurrahman Al Adawi, one of the MEC alumni expressed his happiness about participating in the event. He commented: “I am really happy that we, as alumni, got the chance to meet each other again after almost a year since we graduated and even more for other members, and it is for sure a great opportunity to rebuild the relationship between the alumni and the college”. 

“MEC, as an educational institution, believes in the importance of staying in contact and strengthening the connections with its students whether they are still available in the campus or have already graduated. The Alumni Office was built to establish and maintain the connections with the alumni and ensure that they stay in touch with the institution by participating in the different events and activities like the gatherings, iftar parties, community outreach programmes and initiative and sports events to name a few” Alya Al Husaini, Alumni Officer at MEC said. 

The Alumni Association at MEC works towards keeping up the relationships with its alumni and engage them more in the college’s activities and to share their experiences with the current students. The college is also keen to keep its alumni updated on the changes and updates of the institution through different channels.
