Middle East College (MEC) organized the MEC Virtual Festival 2021 recently to provide Higher Education students from various universities and colleges in Oman to showcase their talents and skillsets. The event saw competitions, workshops and a virtual exhibitions on various topics such as: art and crafts, health and safety, photography, sports and literature and debating. Students from various institutions showcased their talents in the Fest which was attended by notable figures, students, staff and Alumni members.
Abdulrahman Al Adawi from Photographic Society of Oman expressed his excitement and said “Student life at this college is vibrant and exciting. It was very pleasing to see the enthusiasm of students who attended my workshop. As an alumni of MEC, it made me proud to be one of the many presenter of this great event”.
Thuraya Al Yarubi, Head of the Activities Office, added: “All thanks and appreciation to the participating students and the presenters and congratulations to those who won the competitions. MEC always seeks to provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents, and emphasizes the philosophies of intercultural engagement and community service in all of its events and activities”.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, MEC continues to organize such activities successfully for students to express their creativity and to equip them with the 21st century skills they’d require for excelling at work and in life.
