Middle East College (MEC) has opened admission and registration for the different academic programmes offered in affiliation with Coventry University, UK, and NHTV Breda University for Applied Sciences, the Netherlands. The admission for the Fall 20 semester is open from 24th May 2020 to 8th October 2020 in the Undergraduate (UG) programmes and Postgraduate (PG) programmes in the fields of Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Archives and Records Management. Based on the market needs for the human power and resources in various fields and the emerging developments in the region, the college has recently introduced two new programmes: Computer Science with pathways in Software Technology, Data Analytics and Computer Science; and Computer Engineering with pathways in Information Security and Networking. The new MBA programme is under review by the Ministry of Higher Education is expected to be launched later this month.
MEC is the only institution in Oman which secured a high rating of 3 for Teaching Quality and Research Performance in its institutional accreditation. The college offers courses in both full-time and part-time modes, with an additional support mechanism for Students working outside Muscat. MEC is keen to the development of the higher education sector in the Sultanate through providing various academic programmes and choices for the students and enhancing and improving the teaching and learning techniques and methods followed in the education field.
