We are happy and proud to have reached the finals of the 7th edition of the ‘Envision the future competition by DELL Technologies for final-year students from universities and colleges in the Middle East, Russia, Africa, and Turkey. We were among the top 24 finalists of 292 submissions from 17 countries in the first and second rounds.
Our project was accepted for the competition as it perfectly matched their criteria for being innovative and revolutionising. The project integrates mobile technologies with Artificial Intelligence to predict the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. We carried out this exciting project under the mentorship of Dr Smitha Sunil Nair.
We learned a lot from this competition as a team and as individuals. We are fortunate to have been mentored by Dell Technologies in the second round. The technical mentorship exposed us to new and different perspectives and expanded our technical knowledge. The mentors taught us various key performance indicators through which we could present our project in the best way possible in the final round. Working with them closely and getting feedback on our work established our competency and exposed us to the work culture of Tech giant – Dell Technologies.
Our sincere thanks go out to Dr Smitha and the experts from Dell for their diligent work and guidance during every phase of the competition, which enabled us to overcome all the challenges.
Finally, a warm thanks to Middle East College for providing the platform to participate in various competitions, allowing us to bring our project ideas to life.
It was indeed a fantastic learning experience that broadened our horizons.
