A total of ten teams, including Infoline, Ericsson, MEC Staff, MEC Students, Huawei A, Huawei B, ITA, AWASR, PEIE, and a team from the Rusayl Industrial Area, participated in the championship. The teams represented different institutions and companies located in KOM. The championship aimed at strengthening relationships and developing cooperation and collaborative spirit between the participating institutions.
Fahad Al Battashi, Head of the Events Organizing Committee commented: “The institutions and companies allocated in KOM are keen to develop the communication and connection channels between their staff. Therefore, MEC found a wonderful opportunity to facilitate these connections and strengthen the relationships between the staff, through organizing a football championship during the Holy month of Ramadan. It is for sure a great opportunity for all of the participants to get to know new people, build new relationships and make a good use of their time during this month”.
MEC has launched a new facilities building, the Student Hub, that includes a Sports Hall, to further support its belief in the importance of sports in developing human potential and strength. The college has been organizing various activities and events to provide MEC students with an enriching learning experience in life, by engaging with members from other institutions in the Sultanate.
