Middle East College, in collaboration with the MEC IEEE and BCS Student Chapters, are organising the FUTURE INNOVATORS-JUNIOR programme on 14th March 2023 at the MEC Campus to support and encourage innovative talents among the younger generation.
This programme is a stepping-stone to encourage our change-makers, the digital innovators, to think, explore and discover the unique innovative talents and creative skills in them to enhance the ‘Vision of Oman 2040’ by directing the student in the track of innovation, learning and Scientific Research.
Two different activities are scheduled for this edition of ‘Future Innovators-Junior.’
- Activity 1 is for school students from grades 9 to 12, focusing on designing and developing a scientific project based on real-time scenarios.
- Activity 2 is for school and college /university students, focusing on solving a problem and developing a mobile application.
As a part of Activity 1, several Faculty members from the Department of Computing and Electronics Engineering, along with MEC IEEE student branch members, visited different Government Schools in the Sultanate of Oman and delivered workshops and training for school students for designing circuit projects and writing Arduino code for real-time applications. The three best teams were selected from each school for the Finale, scheduled for 14th March 2023.
The second competition, Mobile Application Development focusing on School and university/college students, will be organised live on campus. Participants will have a limited timeline to design the GUI and the functionality on the day of the competition. The topic will be announced on the day of the event.
