Middle East College launches Postgraduate Qualifying Programme (PQP) for aspiring Master’s students. The programme is a specially designed academic bridge programme intended to enhance English language proficiency and academic skills for students pursuing postgraduate studies.
PQP targets key areas such as advanced reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, alongside critical thinking and research capabilities, to prepare graduates for the demands of postgraduate education.

Programme structure
PQP 1:
- Focuses on foundational English skills, academic writing, and presentation skills.
- Suitable for students starting with an IELTS score of 5.0.
PQP 2:
- Advanced academic language skills, complex writing tasks, and detailed research skills.
- For students who either progress from PQP 1 or enter directly with a 5.5 IELTS score.
Admission criteria
- English proficiency: Applicants should have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0. Those with a 5.5 IELTS score may directly enter the second phase of the programme, if available.
Fees
- Total fee for the full programme: OMR 750 (starting with an IELTS band of 5.0).
- Fee for PQP part two only: OMR 425 (for entrants with an IELTS band of 5.5).
