I participated in the Global Red Bull championship for kites that was held in Salzburg, Austria from 16th to 20th of May 2019. It was a special experience as nearly 380 participants from more than 60 countries had gathered around Salzburg to take part in the event. I was not aware, how competitive the sport was, till we reached Salzburg Red Bull firm. Once I started the practice sessions, I figured out the importance of focusing on the slightest of the details, which could prove to be vital for the success of the game. I began to realize that the act of kite-flying was in fact quite scientific and technical. In fact, there are many books and researches that have documented scientifically about manufacturing and flying of kites. I was astonished with the skills, abilities, styles of my fellow competitors. It was a spectacular event that gave us the opportunity to open up with other cultures, and also share and learn from each other’s traditions. It was an unforgettable experience.
