Middle East College proudly announces the launch of its new academic programme, BSc (Hons) Renewable Energy, under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Mohsin bin Hamad Al-Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, scheduled for 7th January 2025 at the Student Hub, Middle East College. This programme comes in response to the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions and aligns with Oman’s ambitious Vision 2040 and the National Energy Strategy (2020–2030).
The programme focuses on equipping students with in-depth and specialized knowledge in renewable energy production and management, emphasizing sustainability and modern technologies. It covers five core themes, including Project Management, Data Analysis and Management, Energy Economics, Health, Safety and Environment, and Advanced Renewable Energy Technologies. The curriculum provides students with technical and analytical skills, along with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions regarding renewable energy system management.
The programme emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application, offering students opportunities to engage in applied research projects that support both national and international sustainability goals. Graduates are expected to significantly contribute to fulfilling local and regional market demands for qualified professionals capable of successfully implementing renewable energy projects.
