MEC celebrates the graduation batch of 2023, empowering future Thinkleaders to innovate and excel in the job market

Muscat, December 10, 2023 — Middle East College (MEC) celebrated the graduation of its 2023 batch over two days from Saturday, 9 December 2023, to Sunday, 10 December 2023, at its Student Hub. 876 students graduated across several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Management, and Archives and Records Management.

 

The ceremony was conducted in four sessions across two days in the presence of dignitaries, members of the Management, members of the College Board, parents of graduates, faculty members, academic support staff, and the professional services team.

 

His Excellency Engineer Khamis bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, for Transport, presided over ceremonies for awarding Undergraduate Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas in programmes affiliated with the University of Wolverhampton, UK and Breda University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands.

 

His Excellency Majid bin Saeed bin Sulaiman Al-Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, presided over the ceremony to award Undergraduate Diploma and Advanced Diploma awards for the programmes affiliated with Coventry University, UK.

 

His Excellency Engineer Yaqoub bin Khalfan bin Khamis Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, for Fisheries, presided over the ceremony to award Undergraduate Bachelor’s Awards for Science and Engineering programmes offered in affiliation with Coventry University, UK.

 

His Excellency Dr Hamad bin Mohammed Al Dhawiyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority, presided over the ceremony to award Undergraduate Bachelors awards for Archives and Records Management programme awarded by Middle East College) and undergraduate and postgraduate awards for business administration programmes affiliated with Coventry University, UK.

 

In his address, Dr Saleh Hamed Al Shaaibi, Dean of Middle East College, emphasised the dedication and diligent work exhibited by the graduating class, underscoring the significance of their journey, and said, “As we gather here today, I am filled with immense happiness. Your unwavering dedication and diligent work have helped you reach this remarkable milestone. As you stride into the future, I encourage you to carry with you the values and wisdom instilled by Middle East College. May your path be adorned with success, purpose, and boundless possibilities as you transition into the exciting world of work. Remember, you now stand as ambassadors of knowledge, and our blessed nation, the Sultanate of Oman, eagerly anticipates your invaluable contributions.”
