MEC announced several convenient study modes in its Master programmes to cater to the needs of working individuals and other postgraduate aspirants.The new study modes include a blended weekend mode, a blended part-time mode and a blended full-time mode. The blended mode allows students to take 50% of the classes online and the remaining 50% on-campus. The new study modes apply to students joining from the Fall 21 semester starting in the first week of October.
MEC’s new modes of study for PG are very flexible and convenient due to the combination of online and on-campus learning experiences. It would allow postgraduate students to acquire valuable skills using technological tools to work and think independently, preparing them to face real-world challenges and contribute to the country’s economic development and help realize Oman Vision 2040.
In this context, Dr. Smitha Nair, Head-Centre for Postgraduate Studies at MEC said, “It is always a priority for us to introduce mechanisms to provide access to working individuals who are planning to upskill and advance their careers. The new modes in Master’s study with a blended weekend and part-time format are convenient options for working professionals in and outside Muscat”.
