The vaccination initiative for MEC Staff has reached its final stages after the college has made significant progress in this regard. As of 6th September, 98.88% of college staff have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 80% of its staff have taken both the shots of the vaccine. MEC started this initiative as early as May 2021, and it achieved a steady progress as it approaches new academic year.
The Health and Safety of the community is always a top priority for the college, and it is committed to achieving 100% vaccination of its staff, before the start of the Fall semester classes commencing on 10th October 2021. MEC has also urged its students to get vaccinated prior to the start of Fall semester to ensure a safe and healthy study environment to its students.
MEC is thankful and appreciates the tremendous role being played by The Supreme Committee entrusted with undertaking measures to tackle developments resulting from Coronavirus, the Ministry of Health and all front-line health workers who are working hard to keep the community safe against the pandemic. In addition to the health and safety mechanisms in place to ensure campus safety, the college is also actively participating in awareness campaigns and volunteering activities to inform members of the community about the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
