The Middle East College (MEC) received the ISO 9001: 2015 Certification for all its administrative departments from Bureau Veritas, Oman (on behalf of UK Accreditation Services) in early October 2017. The departments that received the certification include the Media and Communications Office, Career Services and External Affairs Department, Student Success Centre, Student Affairs Department, Student Experience Office, Assessment Office, Planning and Development Department, Library and Learning Resources Centre, Accounts Office, Human Resources Department, Dean’s Office, Managing Director’s Office and Quality Assurance Office. Mr. Prasanth Nair, Senior Consultant at Sital Administrative Consultancy, Oman provided guidance and support to MEC in achieving this success.
Dr. Kiran G.R, Dean at MEC, expressed his happiness on this new achievement. He said, “MEC’s strategic intent played a key role in driving the ISO certification process for non-academic departments and offices. The academic activities at MEC have long been appreciated by various quality assurance experts and agencies from across the globe. With the ISO certification also in place for the administrative departments, MEC has lived up to the expectations of the local and global community that has placed a huge trust in the institution”.
Quality is one of the core values of MEC and establishing a quality defined culture through quality assurance and quality enhancement in all its operations, is one of the strategies adopted by the institution. MEC seeks to achieve excellence in all its undertakings, through effective planning, optimum utilization of resources and periodic review of all its core activities, to enhance student and staff experience.
