Middle East College’s Graduation ceremony for Batch 2020 filled with pride and joy

Middle East College's Graduation ceremony

Middle East College (MEC) celebrated the graduation of its 2020 batch on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the MEC Student Hub, Knowledge Oasis Muscat.

1,219 students graduated across several Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Management, and Archives and Records Management. The programmes they graduated from, were offered in academic collaboration with Coventry University, UK, Breda University for Applied Sciences, Netherlands and the University of Wolverhampton, UK.

The joyous occasion, held under the guidelines issued by the Supreme Committee and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, was attended by the members of the Management, members of the College Board, parents of graduates, faculty members, academic support staff, and the professional services team.

Dr. Kiran G.R., Dean of MEC, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and said: “You have undertaken your academic journey during one of the most difficult times that humanity has ever witnessed. Yet your agility and capability to embrace change have made you successful. You have received support and care from your parents, family, and close relatives, perhaps unlike any other batch. You are hence a blessed batch. You have gone through and learned lessons that no other batch has in many years. You have hence, what it takes to take on the world. But it also means you have more responsibilities as well.”

“Spread your wings and fly, high and far. Carry the message of Middle East College and the Sultanate wherever you go – A message of love, peace, harmony and sustainability,” he added.

Jawaher Rabia Mubarak Al Qarmashi, a graduate in Archives and Records Management and the winner of the Best Outgoing Student Award in her batch said:  “All praise is due to Allah, I won the Best Outgoing Student Award and graduated with high grades. I would like to share my happiness with my family and colleagues. We will not stop here, and our educational journey shall continue. Thanks to Middle East College, today we are well-equipped and are ready to develop and contribute to the development of our beloved country, Oman.”

Ilyas Hilal Ali Al Maamari, a Business Information System graduate, expressed his happiness about reaching this day and said: “I have been looking forward to this day for so long, and we finally made it. Words cannot express my joy of graduation today. My MEC experience was outstanding, and I will miss the campus life. MEC helped me discover my strengths and this indeed helped me land a good job. I will continue my studies and expand my knowledge and domain expertise. I congratulate my batch mates on reaching this milestone, and I wish them good luck and success for the years to come.

MEC wishes the graduates success and encourages them to take advantage of every opportunity to apply the skills and values they have developed and accumulated over the years and help the Sultanate of Oman achieve its Vision 2040.
