Middle East College (MEC) is organizing the 4th MEC International Conference on Big Data and Smart City (ICBDSC) 2019 on 15th and 16th January, 2019 at MEC Student Hub, Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE, IEEE Communication Society, and the IEEE Oman Chapter. It aims to bring together researchers, designers, developers and practitioners who are interested in the advances and applications related to the Smart Cities and Big Data areas.
The highlight of the conference will be the keynote addresses by academicians and researchers from across the globe. The four keynote speakers are: Prof. Latif Ladid, Founder and President of IPv6 FORUM, Chair, IEEE ComSoc IoT subcommittee, Emeritus Trustee, Internet Society – ISOC, and Research Fellow at University of Luxemburg on multiple European Commission Next Generation Technologies IST Projects, Prof. Francesco Masulli, Chair of IEEE Italy Section Computational Intelligence Society Chapter, a Full Professor of Computer Science with the University of Genoa (Italy), an Adjunct Professor at the Center for Biotechnology of the Temple University in Philadelphia (PA, USA), and a founding partner of the innovative start-up company Vega Research Laboratories s.r.l.s, Prof. Richard Dashwood, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Coventry University, UK, Advisory Board Member for the Knowledge Intensive Product Realisation (KIPR) project at Jönköping University, Sweden, and chairs the Strategic Advisory Board for the Designing Alloys for Resource Efficiency (DARE) EPSRC project based at Sheffield University, and Dr. Ali Al Shidhani, Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Research, The Research Council, Oman.
MEC has successfully organized 3 international conferences on various trending and technological areas including Information and Communication and the current event is the second of the series of conferences being organized in partnership with IEEE on the theme of Big Data and Smart City.
It is worth mentioning that this conference is also one of MEC’s initiatives to make a significant contribution to the development and enhancement in the areas of Sustainability, Information, Communication, Technology, Big Data, and Smart Cities.
