The significance of information technology and communication, along with the emergence of more sophisticated security threats in today’s modern society, has led to an increasing requirement for people with an understanding of the security implications of such technology. This requires improved security skills and high professional standards while considering relevant legal and ethical considerations. In both government and industry, we are now seeing a significant demand for cyber security professionals. The MSc in Cyber Security degree will increase students’ employment and career opportunities. The MSc in Cyber Security provides students with knowledge and skills in several core cyber security areas. This programme aims to provide a comprehensive and deep understanding of security principles and practical techniques for solving security problems.
MSc Cyber Security aims to produce graduates with specific and generic technical skills. This is to meet ever-changing technological demands and equip them for future challenges. The graduates will have appropriate knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and theories in network security, ethical hacking, secure design and development, cryptography, digital data acquisition, recovery and analysis, security of emerging contact systems, digital security risk and audit management and incident management. The program was developed in response to feedback from many stakeholders, including students, industry, and Oman’s 2040 vision.
