Theme: It is an open platform for entrepreneurs, educators, students, staff and inventors to compete and showcase their Intellectual property in form of posters.

Intellectual property symposium for commercialization: December 2021

Theme: To identify and pursue potential projects to increase the commercialization and invite all industry partners and contacts

Topics covered in symposium but not limited to the following

• What is it, and why do we do it?
• The Technology Transfer process – the different mechanisms to transform research results into commercial innovation, the topics such as Discoveries, Inventions, Know-how and Patents,
• The players: the inventor, the research institute and the commercial organisation and the public, the ramifications of commercialising publicly funded knowledge,
• Entrepreneurship within HEIs: the role of faculty members, students and administrators in the Technology Transfer process, Day to day practice of the Technology Transfer process,
• Patents in a research institute: from invention to registered patent, Bridging the "Development Gap" – providing proof of principle, Business development and out-licensing, Licensing revenues and their distribution: up-front and milestone payments, equity and royalties,
• Responsible licensing: points to consider, Conflict of interest, Measures of performance,
• Case Studies, Analysis of actual local cases

Registration and enforcement of IP rights	Basic Overview of all forms of Intellectual Property Rights & its importance like Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks & Service marks, Geographical Indicators, Industrial Designs, Trade Secrets, Plant Varieties, Semiconductor Integrated Circuits lay out designs, Statutory procedure and requirements for filling IP, What can be patented/registered/granted, What are the documents required, What is the procedure, Contact Office/Persons, Enforcement of IP Rights- identifying the procedure for combating infringement of IP. 3.	Patent database training and drafting	Patent Search,  Prior art search, aspects of laws, rules, practice and procedures in the examination of patent applications, the patent process including the impact of patents on the economy, automation tools including the most current searching and communication tools. 4.	IP commercialization and technology transfer- November 2020	Introduction to technology Transfer, IP Licensing, IP Valuation & IP Audit IP Commercialization, Issues faced by R&D Organizations, Academic Institutions and Industry To discuss the issues faced by the Industry and R&D institutes in tech transfer and Commercialization and Gap between the Industry & R&D institutes hampering innovation in different countries, Patent Licensing, Case Studies on IP Commercialization & Appreciation of Revenue Models.
