This programme develops and enhances your knowledge and competence in various aspects of Business Administration, including internal and external business environments, policies and strategies. The programme has the following pathways:
Accounting and Finance
Human Resource Management
This programme is tailored to produce graduates with relevant skills who could support the country’s diversification plans in the current and in future considering shifts and changes in the economy and contribute to the 2040 Vision Strategy.
Graduates of this programme will be skilled to serve in various active sectors available currently and be fit to serve in five identified drivers of 2040 Strategy, that are: Tourism, Logistics, Manufacturing, Mining and Fisheries in the areas of General Management, Accounting and Finance, Human Resource Management or Marketing.
Candidates seeking direct admission to the programmes mentioned here should possess a General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling or equivalent qualification) and General Foundation Programme (GFP) Certificate.
Students who do not possess a GFP certificate or an equivalent certificate may take the MEC Placement Test. The Placement Test determines the candidate’s proficiency levels in English, Math and Computing component.
Exemption can be sought for the English Language on producing IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certificate with a score of 5.5 and above, or a TOEFL equivalent or an equivalent international certification
Computing component of the GFP can be given exemption if the candidate has successfully completed the ICDL or IC3 or any equivalent international diploma in IT skills.
Mathematics component in the GFP (General and Pure Mathematics/Applied Mathematics) modules can be exempted:
- If the candidate secures pass score in Paper 1 of Test of Mathematics for University Admission-TMUA or
- If the candidate secures 3/pass/satisfactory score in Paper 1 of Sixth Term Examination Paper (STEP)
A score of 60% and above in the MEC Placement Test in each of the components would make the student eligible for exemption from the General Foundation Programme.

Accounting and Finance

The BA (Hons) Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) pathway will equip you with the detailed knowledge and skills to take up professional roles in the fields of Corporate Finance and Accounting in local and global corporations, government and international agencies, international trade and international public institutions.
